Is This quarter sawn teak?
If not does it look okay to build with? Either way I’m already all in.

Crazy grain and color for teak. I'm no expert, but the grain and color aren't like any teak I've ever seen. Hard to tell from pictures since reflected light often changes the color things appear to be. Still, I've never seen so many knots and grain variation in teak, even plantation teak. That said, it doesn't mean it won't make for a very attractive look in a finished gun. Just make sure the knots are staggered so you don't have any weak spots.

is this teak called Sudanese teak ?
if so I don't think its strong enough I was testing the wood and the grain line very wide and it is a weak wood http://www.spearboard.com/showthread...=sudanese+teak |

This is old growth Burmese teak. I posted those crazy grain pics because I thought it looked really cool. Most of the wood is pretty straight gained.
