Anacapa islands

Dove earlier today and the vis on the windward side was not all that great 5-10 with a screaming easterly current. Went to the shipping lane side and the viz was about 15 to 30. Lots of particulates and jellies.

Caught a 24 inch lobster which was released after his gopro photo-op. huge schools of large blacksmith and opaleye. No white sea bass or yellows yet up here guys but im scouting......

Just FYI, I don't think you're allowed to possess lobster at all during the closure, could be wrong though. And why's this seal dude such a dick 24/7

Nope there is east, middle and west dipshit. Looks like you had a nice weekend and are quite the surfer. So much for your lesson of respect.

Still really only referred to as one island. Sorry. Good luck on your Santa Barbara YT quest in March though. It should be soon though with all those fat rivers of choice bait (opies and blacksmith). Sounds like you really know what you're doing out there. And it was a respect for the water; please don't read between the lines.

I don't think there is any in-water/out water distinction about grabbing lobster off season in the regs, at least not that i could find. DFG generally has a very broad view of possession. This is probably because grabbing target species such as lobster and abalone introduces a risk of injury from the "the grab". To be clear, I'm not implying you injured the lobster in any way.

Re: Anacapa islands

I was on Santa Cruz Island for most of last week. The wind really picked up on Wednesday and made the channel look like a river.
