Re: Ulusub Spearfishing Co. New Speargun Range
Its about having a quiver. Not all guns can do all things all the time.
I killed 99 percent of the fish I ever shoot with a 120 Euro, both the RA and the Gil, But like others have so eloquently put it, for that 1 percent of the time you need that extra foot of range or a bit more inertia to clear the spine. A 165 ulu will get it done for you. Keep in mind Jon doesn't measure his guns the same as RA so a 165 is shorter than it sounds if you are accustom to euro style.

Exactly! alot of people may think his 140 is a big gun, but it would actually equate to a 125cm euro gun. I plan on getting his 150 RH for the reefs here in Antigua.

Jon do you have any rear handles in stock right now. Looking for a 130?

Do you have any pics of the "blue" and "purple" guns? Also, are these harder to maintain as compared to the basic "oil finish" guns? Thanks! |

Re: Ulusub Spearfishing Co. New Speargun Range
Hi Bleu, Shipped. I'll get you a tracking no.
In other news. 12pc 140RH are in shaping. JHIP, I'll upload some more color photos tonight. As far as maintenance goes, these are Epoxy finished guns. First Penetrating Epoxy, then Build Layer Epoxy, then a UV Topcoat. So they are tough, and the wood is much more protected, sealed, than an Oil Finish Gun. Maintenance is a fresh water rinse, store the gun with the bands pulled through the loops so the wishbone is in the Muzzle. Any surface scratches can be remedied with a scuff and a topcoat. It Starts... the first few pics start to trickle in from Panama... Pete's testing out a gun with different configurations of bands and shafts. For the dirty water.. he thought 2 x 11/16" bands was shooting too far. That's a 140 RH Hybrid Semi ET. 2 x 11/16" or 2 x 5/8" shooting a 7.5mm shaft.

Re: Ulusub Spearfishing Co. New Speargun Range
Thanks for clarifying that Jon...
Are there any side-by-side pics of your Euro series vs. Pro series? I was planning on getting a 145 Pro-series... but after a friend showed me his 165 Pro, I'm having second thoughts as I feel it would be too bulky for reef diving in Hawaiian waters. Was hoping the Euro series would be significantly smaller girth wise compared to the Pro series? |

^bump! Would be cool to see a side by side comparison if he's still making his euro series.

Re: Ulusub Spearfishing Co. New Speargun Range
Great suggestion JHIP I would love to see them side by side as well. Just to see the differences in size and girth. Different angles would be great as well.
