Out of Clearwater Pass 10/16/2020

Went N. dove in 55-65 foot all day. Viz40'. Temp 80. Plenty of small fry bait. Jellyfish remain top to bottom. Many small gags. Had to work for them. Got a nice 29" gag on dive one, and didn't get number 2 until my last dive, dive 6. Nabbed 4 hogs and 2 scamp along the way and some mangos. There were a lot of mangos. Gags tended to be small and skittish. Several other boats around.

Ended up with a lot of mangos, another nice gag, 2 red grouper, few other scamp, dozen more hogs or so.

Seas were 3'. Some white capping and current out there. Dove shallow on Thurs 10/15 to focus on stone crab. Didn't do so well, so bought them today. LOL.

Will be on shore for awhile. Cancelled today and tomorrow's ARS trip. Looks like the wind will be blowing so staying onshore and back to work. So much for October. NE wind no fun. Looks like would be lucky to get out once more this month.

Getting to be that time of year when the "cold" fronts will start rolling thru making for rough seas. Spear gun will get hung up. Bow and rifle will come down for land hunting.

Thanks for the report David. Too bad you had to cancel your ARS trip today but I think you made the right decision as 15 knots from the NE/East is not much fun 50 miles offshore. October and November are historically very windy month.
