Pt. Loma 11/17

Afternoon: (from the pumphouse north of course) Took the boat out in the pm for some kelp diving. Vis was 10' at best and the swell really started to roll in. Dove from 20'-50' and didnt see anything worth shooting. Temp was 61-62 on the surface.
After sundown: surge was strong bringing the vis at bottom less that 5' but the bugs were crawlin and got a limit w/ 3 @ 1" over pretty quick.
Sorry no pics of bugs, i went home and straight to partying.

Question: Has anyone noticed the commercial lobster traps all over the cabrillo smr? This area is a no take of anything so that made me wonder how the commercial fisherman are doing this....

Pretty simple answer for you. The lobster trappers are taking measurements, counts, and performing tagging tasks for research both inside and outside MPA's.
They do not retain any lobster from the MPA's.

Hope this helps- Paul.

Thank for the Info. I wondered the same thing about that area as floats are all over the place.
