Re: Are you a smoker?
Ill smoke probably a dozen cigars a year.Usually LaPerla Black Pearls in the cooler months or Trout fishing to keep the gnats away.

Re: Are you a smoker?
Though I actually don't smoke at all right now, I've smoked a lifetime worth of MJ the last 5 years. Last year I was running a bunch(6-10 miles frequently) and could outrun almost all of my friends, even being a stoner. Hell, the day I ran my half marathon I took a bongload in the morning, ate breakfast, then went and ran 13 miles. And had a static breath-hold of 3 minutes without really trying.
My roommate was a kinesiology major and they measured VO2 max one day in class, the 2 highest were him and our other buddy, both daily pot smokers. We hypothesize that taking bongloads actually teaches you to take much larger breaths, but who knows. I'm in Europe and not smoking this summer so we'll see how much of a difference it makes. I'm not bragging at all, actually wished I had smoked less weed in college, just find it interesting. Plus, being a bong-using-stoner, the actual amount of smoke I inhale is much less than a tobacco smoker who smokes several cigarettes a day. And tobacco makes me sick. I'm pretty sure there's some other freediving long distance runners who smoke weed all the time but I don't know any personally. |

Re: Are you a smoker?
I did read that if you take a Few hits every so often It is working out your lungs And is ok , But like everything else Pros and cons. It said Don't use butane lighter instead use a magnify glass with the UV sun rays to burn MJ

Re: Are you a smoker?
I used to smoke marijuana. Getting into diving has helped me quit that habit even though it took a while. I tried cigarettes when I first joined the army, but never developed the taste for it. I always thought at least marijuana alters your perception at a noticeable level. In any case, I encourage everyone to stop breathing burning things into their lungs, it's just not good for you. And always try to remember that if you are trying to quit, then you'll most likely slip up and that's ok. Slipping up is extremely common, the key is to keep trying.

Yes. Kokanee, jerky, whole chicken, and the occasional tri-tip.
