Re: Malibu Conditions Permathread

Got out yesterday for a dusk dive with Hex, 15ft viz, lots of chop, swell built throughout the dive along with the surge. The crawl started right after dark, i measured 5 bugs that were close. The one bug i nabbed was waist deep in a cave around a corner. Took three nice rockfish, and an ugly 20.5" cabezon, the only reason why i saw it was because he was pointed directly upward, and i saw his ugly lips. I went down and poked its face, it brought its body up out of the crack, poised to spook, which let me see it was legal and blam . Can anyone help me out with the weight on this beast?

How bad? Were you diving the kelp or closer to shore? And did it open up on the bottom all?

Good luck man... I took my pathos open laser pro...and missed all my shoots... I didn't see any spearos out there.... Try south facing coves or beaches... The swell its coming from the west...

I'm down after the swell drops. Don't feel like paddling through overhead and getting blasted on my first spear dive
