LASeaCat - Dave Dauzat Here!
To all,
It's been a tough week to say the lease. Haven't spoke to Stan but I'm sure he was under water. So I guess I can't complain. Borrowed a computer to make this post. Been to Grand Isle twice to savage my father-inlaws belongings as well as stuff that I left at my camp. Both trailer style camps are totaled as is all of Bridgeside Marina on Grand Isle. Fellow Helldiver, Wil, escorted me into Metairie before most were allowed to find that while I had damage, I had no water due to flooding or from roof damage. One of my 4.5 foot diameter oaks feel missing my house but destroying my wooden deck, fence and shed (needed new ones anyways?) My attached 21 x17 foot carport flipped up on top of my house causing considerable damage destroying my new metal roof. That seems hardly anything compared to what others in LA and Miss had to endure. On top of that, Lake Ponchartrain will be poluted as the city is going to pump the water there!? Gas is off the hook? Heard today that they shut down a Racetrack Gas station owned by a rag head because he was selling ice for $6 and gas for $5.25? (Should have shot him!) I could go on....... I'll post pictures soon! Chad and others who know some HD's, Gary Pecquet is good. He had little to no damage. Rok had some water in his house. Wil is housing much of his family and a rescued 89 year old lady that was abandoned by her children. I think Dave Chaix had water in his house. Mark Peart loss everything, house and probably his boat? Haven't heard from Stevie Z but if the Ormond pumps held up, he's okay. Matt is probably worn out from flying Black Hawk missions to the city. I heard Chet was okay but moving out due to the job thing? Anyone seen or heard from Mike Freeman or Nick? (Hope they are okay!) Things are crazy right now as you can only imagine! All who ordered shirts, please be patient. Hope to be in touch soon, Take care......... |

Glad you made it, Dave. I responded to your PM. This storm was the most terrible thing I hope to ever experience.
Hang tough, this will pass and we will be stronger and smarter for it. Zz

David,
Sorry to hear about the new roof damage and the rest. It's good to hear you're all OK and the tree didn't hit the Seacat. Are you staying at your house? I've heard from Chet, he had 8" of water in his house, and helped George with some of his roof damage. Call when you can. I can't get through. Chad

Re: LASeaCat - Dave Dauzat Here!
Thanks guys. I'm only on Spearboard sporatically. The Sea Cat is good!! (and full of gas?) By the time I get to use it, I may be able to sell the gas and pay off my house instead!? I feel for George and others who have gotten water into their houses or who have ever had water in their house. My father-inlaws camp as well as mine (both trailer type camps) had about 3 feet of water in them. The mud and muck is so freaking nasty and undescribeable!
Until next time, take care..... |
