Re: Shark in Riviera Beach

Oh #$%!

I hope he will be OK it says it was by Phil Foster. Maybe he was diving around sugar sands? I have heard of bulls around there never seen any though.

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. -- A person was bitten by a 12-foot bull shark in Riviera Beach on Tuesday.

Rose Anne Brown, of Riviera Beach Fire Rescue, said the male victim was bitten at about 5 p.m.

He was taken to an area hospital after the incident off Phil Foster Park, Brown said.

She said the victim was conscious and responsive.

Bingo! He was well offshore, he was just transported from Phil Foster to St. Mary's.

He's one of us and a hell of a shooter, so say a prayer.

Not my place to tell the story...i'm sure it'll be out soon.

You're in my prayers tonight brother!

Re: Shark in Riviera Beach

I've been really nervous about our interactions with the Bull Sharks over the last couple of years....was afraid this kind of stuff was going to happen sooner or later...my prayers and well wishes to this person...someone please share as it is possible to do so, the details, so we'll know if there is anything we can do to help them.

Rick

Caught 7 bullsharks on the flats near little munyon last week. Makes me think twice about diving sugar sands reef when the waters murky.

Re: Shark in Riviera Beach

I'm sorry to hear about this accident. I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often. The shark probably made a legit mistake and was going for the fish but in the big picture that's like William Tell going for the apple and nailing you right between the eyes. I hope he will be ok and I hope he didn't cut the tendon on the back of his heel in half. Great job to the guys that got him out of the water ok and sinched him up so he didn't bleed out. I have to say a couple of times out on that deep ledge in PB I remember seeing how crazy the sharks got, the numbers and how big some of them were and was thinking there is no way to make it up through this without getting annihilated if I get bit. 12' is one HUGE bull!! Gotta love Jupiter and it's sharks... hey it keeps the crowds down...
