So what are you gonna do John, have Sea Tow follow you around on tournament day?

Re: Summarized Results..........

In the event of a tie...I think it should be the first one to weigh his fish in. Alot of fishing tournaments operate that way.

My congratulations to all the hard work by the winners and promoters of the tournament!

In looking at the scores a few interesting things come to mind.

The winners were divers with good aggregate scores across the board, and
the new unlimited weight didn't have as large of an effect as it could have.

There were only 3 guys with groupers above 20 lbs, one at 42.2 lbs. and
2 in the mid twenties. Not a huge factor.

There were 23 divers with aj/cobia/cudas over 20 lbs. Only 1 was 42.2 lbs, 4 over 30 lbs and the rest in the 20s. This was an important category to complete.

Still, note that big fish shooter Jason Delacruz shot only 5 fish in 2 categories, yet he had 103 points. Jerry Rice shot zero hogfish yet he was only 11.4 lbs from the leaders. Sandie Curran had the 2nd place 35.8 lbs AJ/cobia/cuda and was only 2.4 lbs under the leaders.

Imagine the outcome if fish in the 80s or 90s had been turned in?

The tie breakers appropriately went to the higher average and also the highest aggregates.

Interestingly without the new unlimited rule the 1st and 2nd places would have been reversed. John would have lost his 3.1 lbs advantage over Dean in the AJ/cobia/cuda category.

Please don't mistake my comments to be complaints... they're just observations from the outside. I didn't compete.

Once again congratulations to everyone involved!

Chad

Well John, you just have more brass than I do! Congratulations on your victory!

Drive my 36' x 13.5 ft inboard boat, in the evening, into a river I don't know... and tie it up where? Then drive offshore late at night, dead tired, and run 40+ miles south to put it away? No way!

IMO same day weigh-ins press everybody to dive and drive in a rush.
When they're not in your own town it's all the more harried.

Chad

Hey.......Budddddddaaaaaahhhh!

I just spit coffee on my monitor through my nose!

I'd like to say that the format was refreshing and I really enjoyed the tournament. The guys I dove with had a blast. I will be looking to de-throne one-third of the Brothers Hermes next year.

I'd also like to say......That if someones boat doesn't fit the mold for the tourney......THERE ARE PLENTY OF PEOPLE TO RIDE WITH, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ASK!

Jason

Re: Summarized Results..........

God knows Chads boat won't fit up the Anclote River. Damned if I know how they got those 80' Shrimp boats up there....

Chad, you are awfully good at belittling tournaments, like you did last year after the SBO. I am just waiting for the Chad Carney Open to see how a tournament should really be run.
