FII level 1 class

Just finished taking this class in oceanside with Brandon gross. We had a great time. I learned tons of safety and rescue techniques. New breathing techniques and was able to improve my water entry and kicking technique all the while setting new personal bests for static breath hold and depth. Thanks again brandon I look forward to taking level 2 some day

What was your static and depth? I want to take it next time they have it in Hermosa.

Re: FII level 1 class

Before the class my best static was 1:45 I got it to over 3:00 and my deepest dive was around 40ft and I was able to hit the depth goal of the class of 20meters and I'm sure I could get deeper but that was the depth goal of the course and I'm glad to have reached it

Re: FII level 1 class

Do you have to take level 1 before you can take level 2? I'm sure it helps to learn the proper way to kick, descend, etc.. in the first class before moving on. What does something like this cost? I couldn't find any prices online.

Edit: found my answer, you can bypass level 1, but still couldn't find anything on cost.

After taking the Level 1 Class this weekend, I can say that with my previous technique, there would have been no way I would have been able to keep up with the guys in level 2. Thank you again Brandon, it was best learning experience ive ever had and it was super fun. Im waiting to go out on a practice session soon

Re: FII level 1 class

i too attended the class over the weekend and it was legit. i'm relatively new to this sport and my main goal was to learn "correct" technique and how i can be safe in the water. safety was definitely a main point of the course and the techniques learned are well worth the money spent. i had similar results as cameron, from a breath hold of 1:30 to a PB of 3 min (i'm confident i could extend my breath hold beyond that) and i reached the goal depth of 20m. i'd never attempted a max depth, and had maybe been to 30 ft prior to the class. definitely nice meeting you all, hit me up if you ever want to dive.

my favorite piece of info from brandon was, "lube is your friend, use LOTS of lube".

IMO, that's a medaphor for life.

I don't think until early spring. Mark Lozano would be the one to speak to about that though.
