Hi Seatux! I saw your post on the forums awhile back about spearfishing in Manasota Keys. I will be going down there with my wife’s family in July and am looking to do some spear fishing. Are there any good sites you would recommend? Thanks in advance, Chris

Hi Seatux, I have a suit made by Biavati/Italy. I have a tear in the knee area from the outside (rocks) and would like to add some kneepads after repair. I feel confident to repair the tear, but I am not sure where to get a good knee pad or what material to use.
Also the seams under the elbow are slowly coming undone. It is an open cell suit. I was thinking of putting a bicycle repair patch on the inside after re-glueing the seam. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Chris

I'm happy to help. The rip you have is an easy fix, make sure it is dry, bend the suit so as to open the cut, and then brush neoprene cement into the cut. Now the hard part..WAIT! I know you want to put it together when it is still wet, most glues are like that, but not neoprene cement, wait till it is not tacky to the touch, then press it together as hard as you can, squeeze it tight. You’re done. As for the glue to use, You can’t buy the stuff we use to manufacture suits with because it is too toxic. But go to a scuba shop and buy any neoprene glue that comes in a brush top can, you will need the brush to apply the glue, I’ve seen glue come in tubes like tooth paste, insane!
If you came to see me in person I'd do it for you for free (I never charge for so little of a repair) but it would cost more to ship it back and forth than its worth. You’ll be fine, you can do this.

I was doing a web search about repairing a wetsuit ( yamamoto ) and found this topic http://spearboard.com/showthread.php?t=134744 .. I thought maybe you could help me with some info..

The websuit is for surf and made of yamamoto #39 I think.. and I got a nick on the back https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-t...0/IMG_7402.JPG .. I am not sure what glue to use and how to do it on this kind of situation.
