rancho santa margarita I dive all over O.C and sometimes go up to P.V. where are you located? I would only use the gun for white sea bass in clear water conditions and yellowtail at the islands. I was thinking of the standard Marksmen fatback midhandle.
I have a 55" Marksman Rear Plus and I LOVE IT. Biggest fish I have taken with it is a 56lb WSB and I stoned it cold. I usually have to deband it down to 1-2 bands when I hunt reef fish, so I don't shatter and bend all my shafts.
In reality, its a TON of gun for reef fish off the coast.. way more than is needed. It really only needed for WSB and yellowtail. The gun is made very well and I have not had any issues with it at all. My enclosed track is starting to show some wear because I beach dive with it so much, eventually I'll send it back to Koah and have it refinished.
