Hello Magnum, I read a post where you touched on spearfishing Isla Mujeres. Do you have any outfits you’d recommend? I’m taking the family there, planning on bringing the hunting gear and would love to get a few days to spear. Well be there in May, any direction would be much appreciated. I can do it, would be far from the first time, but trying to recon that once you get there tends to waste precious time on island. Thank you in advance for any info to get us in the water and on some fish. Cheers

Tails, I don't know of anyone specifically in Playa, but there is a guy who runs a spearfishing guide business in Cozumel; his name is Leo and I've read good things from his customers. Cozumel is an easy ferry ride from Playa, and I think the fishing would probably be better from there. If you want even better conditions, think about coming to Isla Mujeres for the day. It's about an hour north of Playa, just a 20 minute ferry ride from Cancun. We have better fishing than any of those places because of our proximity to the Gulf of Mexico - my buddy and I speared 600 lbs two days ago.
