Just finished working with some purple heart. It looks nice but I probably won't work with it again. It has a tendency to tear or take a run when sanding or machining and can become a pain to work...

Phil- was using the clear coat hardener from west - 207. Was applying in about 65 degrees which the bottle says is prime temp.

I read somewhere on here that cheap brushes could be a problem. I just redid my epoxy coat and can't shake this epoxy not curing all the way. This is two times now! First coat went on fine....waited...

Had the same problem - thinking my issue was not waiting long enough between coats. Only waited 20 mins before applying the next coat and my epoxy never fully hardened either and it wasn't smooth....

Heres a pic of the mahogany I did. Same issues. Easier to see in the photo of the handle. Only option is to sand with 220 and re-coat. I'm calling it done. Sounds like you are too. Nice build btw!...
