Re: New Natural reefs

That's why you should always run your bottom machine. Never know what will show up.

New Natural reefs

Can expect Ian to shift a lot of sand around. There will be some nice honey hole reefs covered up or further exposed. Last hurricane left about 2"-3" of a 1' foot high ledge exposed. Totally filled...

Re: It's that time of year again

Snakes and ticks won't be a problem in November in the U.P.. Neither will it being too hot. Staying warm and not getting frost bite will be more of a concern. At least layering up is a option vs. a...

Clearwater National Powerboat Race

Just a heads up to anyone near Clearwater this weekend that the powerboat races will be going on. I believe Seminole Boat Ramp in Clearwater is where the boats will be unloaded/loaded. A buddy of...

Anybody been to the MG lately?

Was wondering if the vis was any better out there than inshore? All this rain run off hasn't helped.

Re: Out of Clearwater 9/17/22

I found that on shots less than 10' a slight bow isn't a big deal. The further the shot is past 15' a bow really effects accuracy. I know guys that carry 3 shafts will have that slightly bowed shaft...

Re: Out of Clearwater 9/17/22

Very nice gag. In the video it looked like the gag slightly bowed the first shaft near the rear?

Out of JP 9-17-22

Went out with Capt. Dave Z of the Lucky Two Four fishing charters along with Mike and Vince to retrieve Dave's stuck anchor in 95'. Sucks having to cut about 100' of line. I get all set to drop in...

Re: Elbow trip 8/27/22

Team Head Hunter that regularly dives that depth and deeper with all their years of experience would be the perfect ones to answer your questions. For me, with a main bottle and a single pony at that...

Re: Mg 08-27-2022

Rob, let me know when you're going and have room for me. Life is too short to not do the things you love. As they say, "tomorrow isn't promised to anyone".

Re: It's that time of year again

Going to Ga. soon for opening bow. Yes, bear chili can taste great depending on the cook and ingredients. These days there are some handguns that make the .44 mag. recoil seem mild.

Mg 08-27-2022

Been going out there on a regular basis lately. This time Chris and I had Bill Hardman and his friend Leo onboard. Chris was finishing up a Heliox class by Bill. We dodged the rain early in the am....

Re: Elbow trip 8/27/22

Love the Perdix AI. Best computer I have owned. See 2 new models came out. Mainly the case. For my type of diving, I'm very happy with the one I have.

Re: Elbow trip 8/27/22

Saw you headed back down to retrieve the lobster ty-wrap that slipped off. At least you didn't go to the bottom.

Re: August 20 MG for SPO

Rob, nice video with still pics. Get a small spray bottle about the size of a De fog bottle. Fill it up with Rain-X and spray it on your Go-Pro front video window. Then, buff it dry. That should...

Re: Middlegrounds trip Aug 20, 2022

Any day you go spearing with friends, don't lose or break gear, some fish in the box and come back safe is a good day!

Re: Good luck to all in the SPO

Ran out to the MG in pretty flat seas. Had a big thunder cloud that provided shade as the sun was rising till we got there. We moved around quite a bit. Saw plenty of boats with dive flags or just...

Re: The Collapse of the Gulf of Mexico Grouper Fishery

I was in the MG too and only saw rec boats either diving or fishing. Didn't see 1 bandit boat. Years ago would always see a few bandit boats working the MG. Guess, they cant make a living there.

Good luck to all in the SPO

Looks like pretty calm seas for Saturday. Just need the rain storms to hold off till evening. See some of you out in the MG. Everyone on the boat I'm on isn't in the SPO. That's to ensure we get big...

Re: Current Vis - Tampa Bay Region (Homosassa to Sarasota)

After the SPO on Saturday, you'll get plenty of reports. Not all of us diving tomorrow are in the SPO. A few weeks ago diving near Tarpon. The vis was decent and shoot able. That's the best I can...

Re: The Collapse of the Gulf of Mexico Grouper Fishery

Ben, you think the 90's and early 2000's were great. It was even better when I got out of the Navy and started diving again here in early 80's. The "ole timers" told me it was even better in the 60's...

Re: How's Mini season in the keys?

Rob, you got enough lobsters to feed each of your "unexpected" guests that passed thru the back pool area . Waiting for the video posting.
