Unfortunately considering the fish was shot on Scuba you cannot submit it to IUSA for a record as only freedive records are considered.

I'm 99.99999% sure that's a Cubera. The one in my avatar is...

It looks like the commission unanimously agreed to move forward with allowing spearfishing in FED waters for AP and Permit.

Not all of them and it may or may not have had stripes under water. The one Chris shot is 100% no question a Nassau. The defining coloration is the spot and yellow fin tips.

So have you shot a red grouper with a spot on it's dorsal saddle?

You can say what you want but Reds DON'T have a spot on their dorsal saddle and Nassau's ALWAYS do. Just because it's not striped...

So whats the deal with the black spot and the yellow fin tips? I've never seen a Red with both. The more I edit that pic the more pronounced it gets.

A. The Riffe inserts are the same inserts you can get at home Depot for 15 cents.
B. As Rob said the Rob Allen reel already has a mount allowing the reel to be removed.
