Re: One serious 29x9 Radon for sale

I have a 25x8' deep vee boat and depending on the load it will easily hit 8000 lbs, so I'm sure that loaded that boat must be well over 10,000 lbs, maybe 7500 dry? If I remember mine is about 5000 lbs dry, but I haven't looked at my records for a while, so I'm just ballparking there. We get about 2 mpg averaged out over time at 17-20 kts cruising speed, but those are just "back of the envelope numbers". I know of 26' single diesel Radon boat that gets about the same at about 23-26 kts, but the Radon hull is more efficient than my 20 degree deep vee.

Those particular Yanmars are newer than the engines I just talked about, but they are still mechanical engines (not electronic diesels), and I would have guessed something like 1.5-2 mpg, but I have never owned or run a Radon hull. Those are the kind of numbers guys get with lightweight diesel powered planing boats, so it's truly impressive to me with a heavy hull like that.
