Seriously you can't miss with this gun.
How exactly did Mike "tune" your gun with the 3rd band? He usually equips his guns with (2) 5/8 bands unless it's his BW models.

Also, is that an "Amero" gun?

Mike made the gun for me with 3 bands, it's crazy accurate. I don't know what model it is, I just asked for a 55" gun I could use in bluewater.

It's custom made for me.

I was sniping muttons with a single 16mm band on that gun. Just use two and cut them short, you may fall in love. 3 bands is just too much hassle when you need to reload in a school of fish.

TEJ is in Southern California. Freedivers in California don't get to reload in a school of fish. Nothing we shoot hangs around in schools after a shot. After I load the four bands on my Wong Super Magnum, I'll just be happy to get a shot. And if I miss a big white sea bass or yellowtail, it won't hang around while I reload even one band, so I'll have plenty of time to load all four bands.

Then power it up! I would go with a different gun for socal if I was taking one shot, I would want a 5/16th shaft. I am sure the gun will do the job though.

Our vis in the kelp beds is often poor, so a 55" gun works well. But a 5/16" shaft is just going to cause more recoil, and isn't that why some people here were cautioning against three bands? I use three 5/8" bands on my 57.5" Wong magnum, and even though the track is cut for 5/16", I use a 9/32" shaft. That lets me shoot with one hand.

And on my 60" four-band Super Magnum, I use a 7.5 mm shaft, which is about half way between 9/32" and 5/8".

we shoot 60" to 65" guns in the deep water here- still 2 bands though
its a nice gun anyway- looks alot like a deathstick

I shoot 49" and 130cm in the keys. I find over 50" to be overkill. Then again, I haven't tried blue water spear fishing yet.
