At first, I thought the same... but now I realize Nelson just attracts that kind of stuff. Makes for entertaining stories.

Congrats on the nice fish & thanks for the fillet.

Very nice job man, in the water and on the keyboard. Sorry to hear about your incident, they'll get theirs.

So...how far did you drive to your spot...what area code were you in?

I've yet to get my first hali, been in the water since last April or so, gone for halis 2x @ Del Monte but damn, its hard to go back to sand when you have all the other nearby spots with decent fish.

Nice report, Nelson. Sorry to hear that the living situation has still not been sorted out, but on the bright side maybe living in Oakland has helped sharpen your reflexes and contributed to you tagging that sucker on the run!!

Re: 07/24/2010: Halibut dive (A Clearing of the Mind)

I find halibut hunting very exciting, gliding over a sandy bottom with long range visibility, since I solo a lot the field of vision is a feeling of security,
and there is a great deal of technique in learning to 'read' the bottom and identify prey, besides there is often lots of different terrain, even in a relatively sandy bottom

Ah ok the cup is hovering above the plate - took me a minute. It would be cool if they made a fish pop out series of those posters but with kelp or bait instead of flowers.
