Me and a bunch of buddies will be diving that wreck in August - would you all even suggest we try and spear on it given this info, or just do the dive for the wreck and look to spear somewhere else?

Much different when using tanks and short shock cord...I am assuming you will be tank diving. You won't get a shot on a hoo most likely and everything else you can keep the fish close enough to keep the sharks away.
