Yamaha Repower - Recommended Dealers
We have decided to just repower our boat rather than try to fix our 2005 Yamaha F150 four stoke. The boat is rated for up to a 250. So we are looking for recommend Yamaha dealers to do the repower. Not sure which size engine we will go with, as we are starting to research which size Yamaha has had the best track record lately.
Thanks in advance, Daniel Boat is located in Tarpon Springs, but any dealers in Pinellas, Hillsborough, or Pasco are fine. |

Boat and Motor is good. Or you can try Quality Ttops.

What kind of boat? Length? Honestly sometimes going up 50-100 HP can actually give you better MPG, and of course your top speed increases.
Have you considered a Suzuki or Etec? I think the Etecs are now coming with a 10 year warranty and are pretty damn nice. I don't know if I can recommend Sunray - although they did a pretty good job installing my motor, over the years they have screwed up a few things and I just don't think they take the time and effort to do things just right. Have had very good experiences with Quality T-Tops |

It's hard to beat Boat and Motor due to the volume they do. If nothing else they might be able to get you a better warranty over another dealer. Chris in parts is a childhood friend of mine. I'd buy the engine from them and have Dan at Raider Marine in Tarpon install it. Another childhood friend who I trust and at $92/ hour labor, again, hard to beat.

St Pete Open sponsor Central Marine get's our business. We had a 350 lower go out last Tuesday afternoon on our Southport. They had us a new one lickety split so we could run our trips on Thursday.

Thanks for the replies.
Boat is a 22ft Sea Hunt Triton. We might be considering Suzuki. I have nothing against Etecs, but there isn't really room to add an oil reservoir. Apparently Yamahas are in short supply. We were told that a 150 may be able to be received within a few weeks, but a 200 we were looking at might take 6-9 months! Yamaha is the most appealing since the boat is already rigged for a Yamaha. |

I forgot to mention that about Yamahas being in short supply.
Waiting that long would suck. But the cost difference between a Zuke and a Yammy is pretty significant, which could pay for the new rigging. You could also consider fly-by-wire and the electric steering they offer as well. |

I'm a big fan of two sets of Suzukis I've owned. Robert at Precision Marine in Largo is fantastic and does only Suzuki. If you want to consider Suzuki I would give him a call.
