Fish Finder Advice

I know I'm opening the can of worms here but I'm looking to buy a 25-27' center console in the next year and am wondering what kind of electronics to look for on the boat or buy once I get it. I'll be diving and fishing (trolling and bottom fishing) on the east coast and in the gulf. Basically I want something that can do it all but am not looking for any expert type gear running a huge price point.

Re: Fish Finder Advice

Stay away from Garmin if you want to add any aftermarket maps. I’ve heard really good things about simrad.

Re: Fish Finder Advice

I work for a Garmin, Furuno,Raymarine dealer installing electronics. They are pretty much the same up to 1 kw.+
I've had guys take out Garmin 2-3 kw. Sounders and put older or twice the price new Furuno stuff. Any 1 kw. machine will preform better than you need for 200 ft and shallower diving. Unless you are a swordfish/ Deepdrop guy...... this conversation can grow by thousands quickly.....
