Bottom Finder Pics
Had an idea of a new segment for the board. I have recently posted a few bottom finder pics and they seemed well received. I thought that we'd all enjoy seeing some pics of what other guys are diving, right?
Discussed it with Tony and he agreed, so here it is. Let's see 'em! Post any picture off your depth finder that you think we'll enjoy looking at! Give a short description as to what it is and roughly where it was taken. Should be fun! I'll start it off with this shot from last trip, nice fish on a Middle Grounds Ledge.

One ton dodge 4x4 on the bottom of a lake 10,000' above sea level and about 81' below the surface of the water. Note the "down imaging" pic in the upper left hand corner.

Re: Bottom Finder Pics
We all know there ain't no big fish on the Middle Grounds so here's a shrimp boat pic from my Sebastian trip this year when I decided to defect to the east coast for a week.

Re: Bottom Finder Pics
Were there fish on it?...I don't regularly look at deeper stuff so I'm curious if the bait wasn't showing on finder or was it barren. I'll try to post a pic tomorrow if the wreck we caught cobia off of last weekend looks the same...top to bottom orange and red on finder... goliaths hitting bait 10 feet below the waterline visibly from the surface in 65 feet, ajs, sharks, cobes, and sailfish all mixed in with bait balls and visible at one time h/l fishing from gunnel. one of best days h/l ever out of SLI.

Re: Bottom Finder Pics
Here's one of a 145' Mystery Spot a friend sent me. He's not a diver, so I guess I'll have to drop down on it!

Re: Bottom Finder Pics
Dan,
What kind of sonar was used for the first couple of shots? Was it CHIRP? |

SiTex CVS-1410 with AirMar SS264 Transducers. Haven't gone to Chirp yet. Nobody makes what I want (yet).

I saw something like that before when I was commercial up north, it was after the boat I was working on inadvertently set our gillnets over something on the bottom that we didn't know about. The show after we cut the nets off close as possible looked just like that
