Re: Bottom Finder Pics

Tony your last image is coming from an edge tech towed side scan. I use those units for work pretty frequently. I do not have as much experience w/ multi-beam, but I do know the amount of processing power our units require and I'd be very interested as to what equipment you are getting. I've always wanted to get my hands on survey grade equipment for personal use. Shoot me a PM if you'd like to discuss

Re: Bottom Finder Pics

Took this picture last night of a wreck with a spawning aggregation of cuberas above it. The wreck itself is broken up into several large pieces but the fish tend to move as a group.

Re: Bottom Finder Pics

Jose, maybe some day. Just haven't felt the desire to do a tournament lately. Never say never though. Here's a pic of a nice Warsaw we caught on the 380' spot. Wanted to dive it but the viz looked Gnarly....had dove on a spot in 260' close to it and slammed into the bottom before seeing it. Didn't feel like doing that in 380'!

Re: Bottom Finder Pics

Dan, that's a thick Warsaw. At 380' doing H&L, the Electra-mate would be my best friend or Mr. Bandit.

Dan, question for you... I've seen the word "spring" used before in commercial books. Is this really a freshwater spring dumping into the ocean? Also, how is this determined\verified?

Yes. Ones that are shallow enough, you can dive and feel the upwelling.

Also, they're huge deep holes surrounded by higher seafloor. If they weren't blowing water out, they would quickly be filled with sediment.
