Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

It's fun to dive at midnight during the thunderstorm %) 5ft waves, rain and wind mixed up the ocean like hell's washer machine. Viz 0-6ft (with flashlight). However, fish was there! Got this 27 pound (40") cow with my 22" pneumatic speargun! She gave me a ride for about 15 minutes until I finally got her %)

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

Rockport MA had hazy 8' vis today. Lots of particulate and jellies. All afternoon, some less vis too.
Sucked. Notches are the worst.

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

It never occurred to me that Fisher's Island is part of NY, especially being so close to CT.

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

Don't have a computer at the moment but vis was around 6 feet today and got a fat 50.5 pound bass. Was scared going for big boys with the new small I'd bands but 2 14 mm bands cut at 380% and almost put it on the string with a gill shot. Cracked the plate in half

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

Yesterday we tried Gooseberry Island at high tide in the morning but it was pea soup, so we moved to Ellisville Harbor in Plymouth, north of the canal, thinking that the viz might be a little better. No deal. Is it the algae this early? Is anyone finding viz better than 3' ?

Ocean Drive Newport Yesterday. Vis was 6-8 feet most places. Couple of bluefish, lots of bold togs, no stripers seen.

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

Went out again today at Kings Beach at around 6:00 pm. Visibility was a lot better than yesterday and around 15' to 20'...really calm waters. I saw nothing but tautog. I swear they would swim right up to my spear and just tease me...a couple big boys too hahaha
