Re: Do we think this fish farm is a bad idea?
Yes. Look into the shit storm created in the salmon farming fisheries from over polluting the water with fish excrement to killing everything else around the pens for miles because of the un-natural antibiotics they put into the water with the fish.
Plus the food fed to the fish is not natural so the fish do not develop the same delicious meat or flavor or color or health omega acids.

Re: Do we think this fish farm is a bad idea?
great topic and one I hope to hear a lot more about as the clock ticks by on their permitting requests. I'm really hoping that they find enough obstacles to stop this as Rojo explained earlier. there are certainly a lot of un-answered questions about the implementation that cause concern. it seems inevitable that fish farming is coming to our coastline at some point. I'll have to try and remember to dig up some articles about what sound like more sustainable fish farming practices than what this plan sounds like.

Ryan, any recent news locally down there about Hubbs pen permits? Maybe we can get Ed from the SD Tribune to give us some update. Must now try to find his info. Lost it...... Sigh.
