California Spearos Bartering Thread

Following suggestions by some, we are starting an experimental sticky thread for bartering diving related items in CA.

This thread is limited (for now) to CA divers to ensure that the bartering system at least works at a local level (or state level).

*****************************

Suggested use for this thread--keep it simple. Example:

Have: Size 46-48 Picasso Black Team fins (1 pair), 110 cm Euro-cut flopper shaft (2 shafts).

Want: sliptip or lead weights.

******************************

But please refrain from bantering back-and-forth on this thread. It really is intended to be an electronic version of a cork board for bartering. And derails will be ruthlessly deleted (and posters will be appropriately notified/warned). Also, this is not Craigslist so please limit the bartering to diving-related items (at least one of the items proposed to be traded/wanted should be diving-related). If it gets too cluttered, this thread won't be useful.

Due to nuances of CA Fish and Game laws, trade/barter of sport-caught game is not allowed and posts proposing such will be removed (with warning to posters) promptly.

Disclaimer: Neither Spearboard nor its moderators will get involved in dispute resolution. Barter/trade at your own risk. If the experiment proves unsuccessful or creates unnecessary friction among spearos, we reserve the right to remove thread in the future.

Please remove/edit post if item is no longer available. Since posts older than a certain amount of time are uneditable, barter proposals in older posts should be viewed with caution.

Happy bargain hunting.

Have: 3 Gat-Ku pole spears. 5 foot, 7 foot and 9 foot. One of the sections (for either the 7 or 9 foot, they're the same) has a detachable head option. I'm looking to get rid of 2 of them.

Want: Fins, mask, snorkel ...... What do you have that you'd be willing to get rid of?

You gotta buy the parts though. Plus this is my kid's last year in little league with me as the manager so it might be a slow process. Other conditions may apply. Lets talk.

I really like the looks of your guns Mike! I have an inflatable and would be willing to put you on some big fish when they are around no prob. You wouldn't have to build anything for me, but those sure are beauties!

Be careful - From what I understand, it is unlawful to Trade any Fish or Game acquired with a sport licence.

Section 75 CA DFG Code

http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/di...00&file=1-89.1

"Sell" includes offer or possess for sale, barter, exchange, or
trade.

http://www.dfg.ca.gov/marine/pdfs/oceanfish2010.pdf

See page 76

Section 7121 of FGC:

Fish caught under the authority of a sport fishing license may not be bought, sold, traded or bartered (FGC Section 7121)

http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/di...file=7120-7123

Entire Fish and Game code (more complicated version of the DFG Fishing Regs Manual), including definitions.

Well there you go! What kind of gear are you looking for? I am pretty sure I will take it. It's not for a euro trigger mech is it? This will be going on my SS 130cm. Let me know.
