Following suggestions by some, and in view of the fact that Cody just found a ring lost after 40+ years belonging to a surfer, we are starting an experimental sticky thread for lost and found in CA.

May karma be with you all.

Suggested use for this thread: Post a simple

"Lost a black-handled dive knife off Laguna on 9/2/2009 in 15' of water north of Three Arch Bay. Thanks."

or

"Found yellow dive light off Ship Rock in 40' of water 8/11/09"

Then if you wish, you can start a thread on the CA forum as you normally would do for that specific item. Who knows...the thread you started may be pushed down with the passage of time but someone a year later may find the knife through this sticky and contact you.

But please refrain from bantering back-and-forth on this thread. It really is intended to be an electronic version of a cork board for lost/found items. If it gets too cluttered, it won't be useful.
