Went out to russells Reef on Monday and Shot some nice Drum While freediving

they were swiming around at 30 feet and the water was 72

They tasted pretty good to us. One of them had some worms in the tail section but the rest was ok

Those drums resemble a southern california nearshore fish (Corbina). Just about ten times bigger than the biggest corbina you'll generally find!

Nice fish!

I'm guessing they tasted very good, I haven't tried a drum that I didn't like, both in terms of texture and flavor.

Hey Guys,

The water was a little rougher than it looks that day and yes they fight pretty good. I shot that guy with a Omer 75 with a reel due to the limited vis and he wrapped me up pretty good .
