Not good scallop waters at the Stein.

Went out to the flats yesterday to do a little hook and line fishing. Found some good trout hiding in five ft. Water temp was running in the very high eighty's. The vis was the real story. There wasn't any! You couldn't even see the sand bars when you were on top of them. The rivers have dumped all that tannin out there and it was brown for as far as you could see. I don't believe that it will clear out any time soon. You might want to rethink going to Steinhatchee for scallops.

Thanks for the report, did run North? There have been some very recent reports of clean water off Keaton Beach.

We saw only three boats going around the bend. They looked like pontoon Charters. There might be better water up there. We didn't venture that far as scallops were not on our hit list for the day.
