Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

Dove Bristol RI for dinner in a shell. Water was 46 deg and very clear. Vis was 12'-15'. Had a blast finding things in the very clear water. I saw a quarter pay binocular on the post and stand ! It was awesome.

no fish but the shellfish taste great in the cold water.

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

I didnt go to a fish spot. I was there only to get shellfish. I assume the fish are gone ??

The water still had a lack of life though, no bait fish or crabs. just empty clean water and clams.

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

I think I could run into bass where I was but it would be random. Although it gave me an early spring idea I know they run hard where I was in spring time , going after the menhanden.

I never would have thought the vis could be this good in Lower providence river. I am close to sabins point, not the hurricane barrier.

I wasnt there for fish but I will keep an eye out

nope , I was further south.

my watch said 46 deg I think maybe 47 at Bristol RI Friday. I'm shallow though, 8-10' depth max.

Please tell me that I am wrong but just south of Sabin Pt is the Riverside sewer outlet, one of the best bass spots for fishermen in the spring. But diving ... I am sot so sure. After that it is Hanes pt whhich is really shallow and full of boat traffic in the summer

not sure if they have a plant south of Sabins. I know one close to the north in downtown riverside and one far north in Watchamoket cove. It might not have been the best idea to dive there. I was on the flat just north of the hains park cove you mentioned and across the chanel on the cranston side. All shallow and yes all awesome bass spring spots. Not really diving spots but I think in the early spring it could be safe to try for bass if there is no rain. I didnt think about it before but I will look into it before diving there again. I was only a short distance from area A cut off and I figured the water should be safe this time of year

Re: Daily Vis Report Thread

There's been no swell or wind in Maine for two weeks now. It's definitely time for the annual 50ft viz day. Better get on it before water temps drop below 40.
