big pass

went out spearing today on friends jet skie. first we headed over to point o rocks were there was nutin and vis was 6ft. so then we headed to the rock in big pass and it was like 10-15ft vis but no fish just snook and under sized stuff. and also i was woundering how deep and how far acros do the rocks go to any local sarasota people?

The rocks go about 18-19 or so feet deep max, and they only go out a little way from the side. They go down at a steep angle, and then out for 12 feet or so and thats it. Then sand. To get good viz there you want the high-high tide incoming for a while, near the top of the higher tide. Rain makes it bad too.
