Carmel 1/29/12 photo report

See edit

Edit: I didn't have a chance to do any post-processing on these photos before I first posted them. I have now tweaked them all just slightly. Its amazing how dramatic a change you can make with just a little cropping, etc. Here are the new versions (and some new photos):

Hey, thanks. Its actually 3 different lings pictured, but they were similar in size. We didn't get into the big ones like some of the other guys out yesterday, but all three Bryan and I shot were decent fish and they all had that bright blue flesh which I really dig.

Camera is a Canon S95 in the underwater case Canon sells. I've been using the S95 for a while, but just got the UW case. This is my first time really using the setup in the water. I'm very happy with it.

Sounds to me like you've been coming up in the summer time, then. This time of year its a very rare day that the vis is <30 feet. Come on up any time and we'll go nail some lings. I've even got a spare mattress you're welcome to crash on.

Nice pics. Looks like you ended up with a nice stringer. But then, you always have nice stringers of fish.

Damn. I was hoping you were gonna say you used a GoPro, I just got mine and haven't gotten it wet yet. Hopefully the stills won't look to bad with a Flat Lens. I'm planning on upgrading at some point to something better. How's the video look on the S95? It's definitely a smaller investment than a DSLR or an actual camcorder.

Sweet pictures... I have the same camera, that is what I got before I had my gopro, damn housing cost way more than the camera, like double.
