Remembering a lost diver, Creating "Eve's Place"
It's never easy losing someone you love. One year ago the diving world lost a beloved friend due to a tragic accident. I was fotunate enough to have known Eve for many years and shared hundreds of dives with her. Her passion for the sport and for divers was unrivaled. I can honestly say I am a much richer person for having known her. On many occasions she told me, "Bobbi, if anything ever happens to me, please make sure I sleep with the fishes." So, on saturday, 13 of her dearest friends and I got together and created "Eve's Place."
It was a beautiful day, calm, warm, blue water. The memorial I had made for her had been placed a few days before. It was the kind of day Eve would have loved. The site is a great place, one of her favorites along Juno ledge. There is a big green moray eel that lives close by, and a small green turtle came out to watch the festivities. Of course, lots of curious eyes were looking on. It was a remarkable experience for us all and a great way to celebrate Eve's life. I truly feel she is at peace, "with the fishes." I want to thank Cpt. Dan Brady and the Blue Tang for donating the time and the charter and to Cpt. Wayne, Brian and Cpt. Jeff for the hard work of making and placing the memorial. Also thanks to all of my wonderful friends for the love and support throughout the year. If anyone would like to dive this site, please pm me and I will give you the coordinates, it is easy to find. Happy and safe diving! Bobbi

Re: Remembering a lost diver, Creating "Eve's Place"
I think that is the most endearing, touching and thoughtful way to be remembered. I am sorry for your loss. But what a awesome testament of her love for the ocean and the love her friends have for her! God speed

Bobbi, it was an honor being a part of such a beautiful day with you and Eve's best dive buddies. I can't think of a better salute to a classy lady who loved the ocean so much. You mastered perfection on this one. The shells were the perfect finishing touch. Angie

Re: Remembering a lost diver, Creating "Eve's Place"
What a beautiful memorial.
I hadn't met Eve, but was going to dive with her for the first time on 9/6/08 on the first LadyGaDivers trip. It seems like just yesterday we were scattering rose petals on the water in Eve's memory.
