Question: Neptonics dyneema gloves vs Mako cut/puncture resistance gloves

Hi,
The design looks similar but I wonder if they are similar on performance. Is there anyone uses both? If so, can you please give comparison?
Thanks in advance.

Trick question! They're both overpriced gardening gloves. That's what 90% of those types of gloves are out there, and they all come from the same manufacturers for less than a dollar a pair. Weather you pay $5 or $25 you're going to burn through gloves if you're using them enough, especially if you're bug diving. Go cheap and don't feel bad throwing them away.

Hexarmor 4018... I love mine. You can find them pretty cheap on Amazon, or eBay. Last pair I bought (as a backup) were $15 with free shipping

A dollar a pair huh? I have used the MAKO Gloves and have not tried the Neptonics Gloves. The MAKO Gloves hold up well for lobster diving here in Florida. I see they are a lot less expensive than the Neptonics gloves.

I've tried inexpensive gardening gloves and the Kevlar and palm material is a lot better on the MAKO Gloves.

Re: Question: Neptonics dyneema gloves vs Mako cut/puncture resistance gloves

I got a pair of Neptonics size Large, because that's the size I wear on my gloves.
The Neptonics size seem to run smaller than normal (made in China), at least the ones I got labeled Large are more like Medium, I struggle putting them on and taking them off. If you have a Neptonics store near you I would recommend trying before buying.
Good luck!

I've not tried none of the two you're mentioning, but I've tried many, some of them from spearfishing equipment "manufacturers".

Best ones I have used so far are DEWALT DPG805L CUT5 Cut Protection Work Glove. They cost a little bit more than chinese made ones, but last much more. The most important thing is that the nitryle lining stays there for months and the elastic doesn't loose it's properties. Plus, they have an antimicrobial coating that eliminates odor.

For me, they are a 10.

Re: Question: Neptonics dyneema gloves vs Mako cut/puncture resistance gloves

Epsealon Gloves Dynitrile are what I have used for bug diving mainly. Gloves have not torn, elastic still keeps snug around wrist and coating is staying put very well.

Note, these type gloves are not puncture proof no matter how advertised. Your hands will def still get stabbed to s##t grabbing CA spiny lobs.
Have tried other type kevlar armored gloves but none come with kevlar around the knuckles so the plain wetsuit material will tear to shreds quickly just from the rocks leaving open skin

Neptonics gloves are my go to gloves. I get a new pair every year and am super happy with them and the service from the good guys at Neptonics.

best gloves manufacture. best fit, range of sizes and function. Their dyneema glove is indestructible. The only thing you need to worry about with these gloves is losing them.
