Open invite LB tomorrow on my boat
I have the day off tomorrow and I’m taking my boat out leaving Davies launch ramp in Long Beach, Los Alamitos Bay at 8 AM. If you are interested in joining, Send me a text. I have room for two divers.

Trace,
You have to make time for a bug dive out here. You know you are always invited!

Re: Open invite LB tomorrow on my boat
Can't make it but let us know if the bugs are deep or shallow. The last time I dove out of HB it was so cold I stayed home from work the next day from the shock and burning all those calories. Beat down.

Re: Open invite LB tomorrow on my boat
Cold is an understatement!
I just returned from Catalina and the back-side of the island was very cold.. Only true, die-hard lobster divers will be left after this point!

Re: Open invite LB tomorrow on my boat
Thanks for the kind words George. It was an amazing dive with decent viz both at PV and the wall.
I made an amazing ceviche with the fish we shot and lobster stuffed avocado shells. People’s jaws dropped and they ate to satisfaction. There was even enough for some to take home! Epic trip!!! Until next time, cheers

Re: Open invite LB tomorrow on my boat
Damn. Didn’t think to take pics. I usually don’t take pics unless it’s a new species or a REALLY big fish.
But I’ll post a pic of the dinner I made today with one of the smaller sheephead that I was able to fit onto a pan to steam. Made Steamed Chinese style, with the hot oil poured on top. Side of forbidden rice. |

Re: Open invite LB tomorrow on my boat
Thank you kind sir.
It was VERY delicious. It was my first time trying it , and I thought it would come out alright, but it came out freaking good! I did dirty a lot of plates and pans though The bigger fish, I fillet and made into a ceviche with some freshly caught scallops for a potluck few days before. (which came out REALLY good) but ceviche is ****ing boring to me now. I wanted to try something new out. I’ll post the recipe and Instructions if anybody is interested. (Which is a mix of a couple different recipes I read online) |

Re: Open invite LB tomorrow on my boat
Alright, it’s actually easier than I might write it out to be haha.
Chop up & set aside: * chop up some ginger longways & thin so they look like matchsticks (save a small chunk or 2 for the sauce) * chop up the green stalk on a green onion the same way-like a matchstick (save the white part for sauce) * chop up some cilantro For the sauce - 1/4 cup light soy sauce 1/4 cup water 1/3 Tbsp sugar 2 chunks ginger 1 piece of the white part of a green onion Lil splash of sesame oil/chili oil I also added chili flakes Just simmer the sauce until heated and the sugar is dissolved (5min)-do this while your fish is steaming. *Steam fish (there are a few ways to do that) I used a large pan + plate with an aluminum foil ring on the bottom to lift the plate up. (Look it up online) (Some people steam in the oven or just bake the fish) Now - *heat up a bit of oil really hot- I used a mix of Canola and sesame. I threw in a bit of the matchstick-cut ginger to crisp up. Assembly: 1.Plate your steamed fish, & place the chopped up stuff (ginger, green onion, cilantro) on the top all pretty. 2. Pour the sauce you just made on top 3. Pour a bit of the super hot oil on top of the veggie-topped fish in front of your guest/gf/wife (wait for the ooohs and aaahs) Throw on some of the crispy ginger you fried in the hot oil on top of the fish too. I put the fish on top of rice so it soaks up some of the sauce , use whatever sides you fancy. Look up some Chinese steaming videos on YouTube for a better idea. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m off to shoot some more sheephead |

Narced Up, Looks delicious. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Can you fact check the amount of sugar? 1/3 TBSP? Cheers, Kadman
