Another HP vs LP
So, I have searched and read things, if you don't mind I have a couple questions.
So first off, I have 2 LP 108's that have HP burst disk in them. I had 5 but the dive store I left them at 'lost' them. So my question is this, should I buy 3 more LP 108's to match my system, change the burst disc out to a HP? or can I buy 3 more HP and leave it as is. All of the threads are confusing and which one is best suited. I want max bottom time, I usually dive around 75 feet with 32 Nitrox. I don't mind any extra weight, I am 6 feet tall. What are my options here? Also, the dive store that lost my tanks are the ones that recommended that I buy LP and they change the burst disc out to HP. Thanks. |

Re: Another HP vs LP
Step one, fire your dive shop.
Step two, buy your own compressor. Step three, buy Faber LPs and fill yourself. You will need to change out burst disk if you plan to overfill but do so at your own risk. |

Re: Another HP vs LP
I always worry about my new HP fabers being "picked up" by dishonest individuals. Its sad to hear that you had this happen to you. My Dive shop has a camera back by the tanks but I am not sure if that is enough deterent or not.
All that being said, I have both LP fabers and HP fabers and there is no problem mixing. Some Dive shops wont overfill the LPs with a HP burst disc. Mine wont unless a new guys that doesnt know the difference is doing the fills. |
