NO BS the day there was 6-7 foot surf-able waves there were no divers out and no dive boats out Me and my US Navy Seal buddy beach dove. The ocean floor had thousands of bugs walking. It looked like the ocean floor was covered with swaying grass but it was lobster antennas. It takes a lot to get me nervous diving wise and I was nervous swimming out through that surf. Even more nervous, low on air and with a bag full of HUGE lobsters coming in through the surf. The shoreward current was a river... There were two commercial boats just outside the surf and they were cleaning house like it's never been cleaned. As fast as you could swoop a net you could fill it with lobsters. All nice one's too.The next early am I went back and hit the same spot. What a difference a day makes. I spent 20 minutes swimming the sand and in about 30' I found clusters of 20-30 every ten or 15 minutes. Another epic day. The next night I talked a good friend of mine into hitting the same area. We swam out in the dark and went alll the way to 60' off the beach and NOT ONE single BUG! Even better on the way in the current did a weird quick change and was hauling ass straight out to sea. We ended up stopping our dive at 500psi over a 1/2 mile off shore and swimming in topside on our backs which took about 90 minutes finning like we were racing. My bud said it's a good thing I had perfected my fag fin kick because he had tried to slice me several times on the way in... The next day I went out in the early am a few miles away and limited again in ten feet with some nice bugs. I was snorkeling and checking inside or i would have missed them as I had planned to dive much further out. Wow what a ten days...
