Was not a problem when I lived there.....unless you mean "on" as in "carry on". They may frown on that .

I'm not totally sure, but currently spearguns are illegal in the country ..... unless you can prove their intended use.

I've had two friends have their sport tubes confiscated at Managua on the way into the country. One buddy was able to get his back due to some family connections ... the other guy was able to pick them up on his way out.

Will it be a problem on the way out? Not sure.

I believe the key word is "fishing equipment" and always leave out the word "gun". So spear fishing equipment should do fine.

Re: Can i bring Spearguns back from Nicaragua on Plane???

Exactly always put "fishing equipment" or "spearfishing equipment" and never ever put the word "gun" anywhere ... that is like waving a red flag in front of a bull. Even the TSA people have advised me to put "fishing equipment" and it says so on their website. About a month ago I ordered some spearfishing stuff which included 3 spearguns from a website. I made the stupid mistake of describing the spearguns as spearguns and I ended up having to get a special "weapons and ammunition importation license" which took 3 weeks to get approved. This is ironic as I can just pull my car up to one of the many spearfishing local shops here and buy 100 spearguns with no problems at all. Just avoid the word "gun" as that only causes headaches!.

Very good advice above. I would wrap them and put them in your board bag if you have any boards to bring back and as others have said, call them fishing equipment if anyone asks.
