well i will chime in on a good knife
I buy about 3-4 of these a year
when i travel I bring them and leave them with the guides
and when they fall off the deck I just pull out another

they are super sharp have a great handle and cheap

I never pass up a stop to the bass proshop whenever im on the 15

Great all-purpose knife, IMO and it will last for many, many years if you don't drop it overboard or off the dock. :-)

leo may have seen more 10 inch boners than everyone on spearboard put together, but it sounds like he can get the job done with only 6 inches....

Re: Forschner 10" boning Knife

I am a huge fan of nice steel... Sadly those fancy carbon steel knives like the one above are hard to keep clean as the carbon steel tarnishes/rusts much faster than 'regular' stainless knives. (they can hold an edge to the point that if you even look at it you will start bleeding)

Here are some fun links:
http://www.watanabeblade.com/english/special/index.htm (some cool japanese blades that wont totally crush your bank account)
http://www.global-knife.com/ (my favorite knife to cut fish with in my kitchen)
