New Shaft for Euro 110

I have a Riffe euro 110 and am looking at buying a threaded shaft to employ a slip-tip setup (for wsb, yellowtail, etc). The euro 110 comes standard with a 17/64 shaft. Will moving up in diameter help or hurt? should I get a 17/64 threaded or a 9/32?

Also, do I get the riffe Ice Pick Tip or riffe Mini Ice Pick tip? and what's the difference?

Which Mori? and why the wider shaft and why the mori? I'm just curious and want to know more about the gear since I'm new to slip tips and shaft sizes

Mori spectra tip https://www.speardeals.com/Mori_Spec...p/mori-001.htm.Mori has proven to be one of the more accurate tips on the market and a lot of guys seem to swear by them(myself included).I can't speak for the ice picks but I have heard of a lot of accuracy issues with that particular tip.The thicker shaft will provide better penetration on bigger fish.

Rob Allen makes threaded shafts with notched and a wire fin. They are a great option too.

Check out our shafts as well.

Made for 6mm threaded screw on tips and slip tip adapters, the MAKO Spearguns

Carbon Spring Steel shafts are arguably the strongest spears on the planet. They are by far stronger than stainless steel shafts and by making them with low profile (mini) sharkfin tabs, they are even stronger. Shafts with mini sharkfin tabs (built for open muzzle guns) are 50% stronger than notched shafts. This is particularly important for longer spears.

NOTE: Threaded spears are slightly shorter than standard spears to accommodate the added length of the screw on tip or slip tip.

Specifications:
Heat Treating: Induction hardened and Tempered (IHTW) Cr-Si spring

Material: to SAE9254, Grade SHI-200

Hardness: Tensile Strength 2030MPa (minimum) to 2060MPa.

Size Tolerance: +/-0.05mm

Rust Proof Coating: Tested to 3 months x 24 hours per day, salt spray at 32 deg. Cent.

Re: New Shaft for Euro 110

sorry for bringing this thread back but I've heard about the Mori tips not fitting or sitting crooked on riffe threaded shafts. Has anyone encountered this problem?

Hey byrang I told you the mori tips don't fit right on the threaded riffe shafts..

Well I just got a new riffe threaded in the mail for my 90cm gun and my mori tip adapter does fit.. But it definitely doesn't screw on as smooth as it does on my mori shaft. It still fits flush and not crooked though.

Sorry I told you it wouldn't fit before, but I only had one shaft to fit test and I guess the threads vary from shaft to shaft because on the other shaft the mori tip wouldn't even do one full rotation.

The Wong tip adapter did screw on the new shaft smoother than the mori though fwiw. But I would go mori first, then you could always sell/return if it doesn't fit on your shaft.

Give Neptonics a call. We should be able to sort you out. We also recommend the Mori slip tip. In out experience it's the best slip tip in the world.
