Anclote 8/21

Headed out with DKay and Alyssa. Very annoying NW ground swell with the perfect period to keep us from running to our original plan but managed some nice gags, hogs, mangos, and some bonus flounder. Vis 15-20 ft in 60-65. The most bait I have seen with lots of mackerel and runners witch is a great sign. Missed my biggest gag to date. Overall great trip. Little current at the end of the day witch kicked our asses. 5 gags, 17 hogs, 5 mangos and a couple scamp and flounder.

Nice 'Go. Where did find that flounder? On the outside of the reef in the sand? How far away from the reef?

Re: Anclote 8/21

flounder was cruising on the edge of the reef. I think the bait schools had them close.

Re: Anclote 8/21

Glad to hear the vis has improved a bit and also good to hear the bait has showed up already. The early bait bait arrival often signals an early onset of cooler water and a chilly winter.

Re: Anclote 8/21

Yes, the bait schools were pilchards and super thick. I will welcome an early and chilly winter
