There are no witnesses on the water. If someone ends up dead with a bullet in them, who do you blame? The boat out fishing? Kind of scary if you think about it. Some CRAZY people out there on the water.

Re: Threatened by Charter Boat!!!
Glad to see its not just a west coast thing. What I don't get is, you put something out there in public. If someone is lucky enough to find it on the water then they have a right to fish it. They have no idea it's manmade. If you want to keep it private put it in a private lake.......
We have the same types of problems out here with kelp paddies. Some people go drive around looking for other boats that are stopped instead of finding their own. |

Re: Threatened by Charter Boat!!!
Yeah, unfortunately it's quite common out here on the West Coast to be harrassed by those F'tards. Had one pull up on a spot I was already anchored on an then bitch at me for being to close. After a while of them bitch'n and us not catching anything we decided to try the other side of the island. And, wouldn't you know it the same d!psh!t pulls right up along side and starts bitch'n again. Well he pulls anchor after about an hour to leave and heads right for us full speed. Unfortunately for him we where getting checked out by the DFG at the time who also checked us on the previous spot. Needless to say the DFG guy wasn't amused. He stopped the boat and had a little chat with the Captain.

Re: Threatened by Charter Boat!!!
I have been through this numerous times. You can report all you want to the USCG or the marine patrol. If there is no contact there is no foul. There is no law about getting to close. Being threatened, I don't know. Years ago I was on a commercial dive boat and the captain waved a cone running full speed off three times and finally put 2 shots in the air. That worked.
I think the camera is a great idea. There's no question as to what happened with pictures. |
