great day
Had a great dive on monday, out of hernando beach. Vis was about 30 ft, bottom temp was about 67. Our guys had to say thanks to capt sam of rock boss charters, he put us on some great spots.
Total for the day: 3 grouper, 5 hogs, 3 triggers, 15 mangroves, and 15 sheephead. All but 4 of the sheephead were over 4lbs. Pics to come soon, if you want a good day look him up. Last edited by spuddiver; 03-17-2006 at 07:59 PM. |

Re: great day
Great work on the mangroves and sheepies! You guys must be sore from reloading all those times.

Re: great day
also on the trip, it was a good day, also a lot of fish to clean but a lot of meat to go around. i wonder why people come over here(east coast) for sheephead during the SPO when they were some of the biggest sheepies i have ever seen? are they just spawning right know? if so how long does it last?

Re: great day
Yes the sheepsheads are just about the biggest right now and even bigger later on. They come into the bays thickly when it starts getting cold, then move out to eat and put on weight, then move back in and spawn when it gets warmer.. I think were right between moving out to eat and put on weight and move back in to spawn. Good days worth!
