Palos Verdes Dive Conditions 10-30-2021

Flat Seas, overcast skies with bitterly cold winds. Underwater found some decent visibility however. Lobsters were hard to locate despite numerous dive site attempts.

I dove my favorite PV cove on Saturday. Viz at the bottom was surprisingly good at 15-25 feet viz. Limited on scallops, 2 bugs (one 3.5lb) were a lot of work and time, and hammered a smallish 27 inch halibut before finally taking a decent sized pus on my way in. With a haul like that, cioppino was on the menu Sunday night.

I'm so jealous. I've been diving 4+ years and still haven't gotten any scallops. I know I'm not looking correctly, but do you ever get any shorediving?

Some of the shallower reefs there have not been producing much bugs lately.
But I also found the same in Malibu, so maybe they're just moving deeper(?). Though with such flat conditions they should be in the eel grass.
