define"full dives" what computer you using that lets you dive that much? I can't really even get 2 dives deeper than 170,(in a day)without going into deco. On nitrox - i can do short drops indefinately- maybe 7 a day, to 100' But to dive the full tank , would cut me way shorter. What am I missing? My buddy Albie has a commercial spearing boat in NC, but they do bounce drops with nitrox- not full tanks The fishery you guys have up there is crazy! You dive on reef raider right? I heard the local fisherman absolutely HATE you guys up there,(join the club lol- they hate us here too) Plus the CG up there stops them every couple of trips to **** with them.

Re: Bottom Finder Pics
Old computers or a BT and VPM A 0 conservatism.
I don't get any heat in the Carolinas,we dive up anchors, call people in on bites and relayed parts or messages. The rec guys and press give us hell but the DNR and coasties are very polite and professional.A DNR researcher is at just about every unload getting otoliths etc. Dan,we got 2 or 3 distinct deep breaks, this one and in the 210 and 240 range.Seafood hiways.

Re: Bottom Finder Pics
Would anyone care to elaborate on what kind of bottom machines they're using to obtain these images? Machine & transducer details?

I did dive a 260 Ledge maybe a mile from a well known drop called the "same old hole" and it was phenomenal. 260ish on the top and dropping into the 300's. I had brought mixes up from Florida that would accommodate 260 but not 340. Speared a big Gag and a monster AJ that puked dead Lionfish on the way up. The coolest part of the dive was a "herd" of big Yellowfins that rolled down the slope to depths that my mix wouldn't allow me to safely follow. Some of those fish were in the over 50 Lb class. My PB Yellowfin from the Gulf is 46.5 Lbs and I believe some of those I saw that day were bigger. Jurassic park for sure.

RC, I use a Si-Tex (Koden) CVS-1410 with a pair of Airmar SS-264N transducers.

Re: Bottom Finder Pics
I don't have anyone else that can dive mix or I'd like to blow a day and hit a couple things up there. We are normally on a full out production schedule with guys constantly in out and packing and a compressor running most of the day to keep up @7cfm.
The last boat was a POS ,you can see the machine in the pic is old but not that the thru hull airmar was 2/3 of the way forward and midway to the waterline.Anything past 2-4 and the cavitation made it a guessing game as to what was actually down there.
