Clt

Interesting note on the Light tower... there seems to be a population of very large Bull Sharks that have taken up residence there. The past three times I've been there this summer, I've seen them show up immediately and aggressively as soon as the first speargun went off. Actually kicked one trying to get my triggerfish yesterday. Several other guys I've talked to reported the same thing as well.

Interesting too, since I had only seen one shark at the tower in all my years diving there prior to this summer. Now they seem to be established. So, just as a bit of cautionary advice to anyone planning to dive there, be aware that the tax man is not afraid to come say hi.

Re: Clt

Thanks for the report. They are definitely showing up more often. We used to never see them out there. How was the visibility?

Re: Clt

That is unsettling. Makes me think of all the low viz. spearfishing we've done out there. Glad the tax man decided to show up when there was a little viz. At least you could see him to kick him!

I'm gonna start building a wall rack for my guns. If I bump into the tax man in some of that 3-4' CBBT viz., I'll need a nice display spot for my retired guns!

Thanks for the heads up.

Re: Clt

Indeed unsettling. Obviously not the slightest bit wary of us. Viz sucked. Stay frosty if you're out there.

Re: Clt

I cheated and did a 2 tank dive the same day. We hit a wreck further offshore and the viz was great out there above the thermo. Below we had 25ft or so. My dive partner got some nice flatties and bsb. My A-game was off. Came back inshore and the viz sucked. All that good water we had previously is def. gone. Didn't see any sharks on the tiger, they must have taken a liking to all the spearos at the CLT.

Re: Clt

A couple of years ago there was a 10' tiger that kept popping in at around this time of the year. That was fun times!

Re: Clt

I have had a few encounters this summer with a couple very large bull sharks at the CLT this summer on more than one occasion, so they are there from day to day. When diving in crap vis, just be aware
