I'm going to freeport, Bahamas in March and wondering if anyone has a recommendation of good spots to spear fish? or of any companies out there? or people interested in buddying up? Cheers everyone

Re: Freeport bahamas spearos
I wish I knew some good places to go spearfishing. I live in freeport and we normally just go in front of taino beach which is a bit east of our lucaya. We normally go in about 30' of water and don't find much more than a few hogfish. Sometimes we get lucky and see a grouper here and there.
We have not had the chance to go by west or east end to try something different. When in march are you supposed to be here and for how long are you staying? |

Hey, sorry I've been meaning to get back to you, but been crazy busy and I'm only there on March 19-30.
Are you interested in possibly chartering a small boat and splitting cost? charters are usually $300....but you would know better??? |

Re: Freeport bahamas spearos
I work Mon-Sat's and will be headed to Miami the 29th, so that would leave the 24th as the only day I could really head out. I honestly don't know much about chartering boats as I usually go out with my cousin on his boat when he is free as well.
I found this website exoticadventuresbahamas.com that seems like they can custom tailor a trip depending on what the client wants. I was thinking about trying it out as I am sure they would know better areas than I do. Not sure how much it would cost if we just wanted to head out for spearfishing, but I can try contacting them. How experienced are you? Me and my cousin are fairly new to this so we can't really dive that deep. We don't even know what to look for when searching for a place to anchor. |

Re: Freeport bahamas spearos
I too have been looking for spearing buddy. I have a condo over by the Xanadu. I dive off beach some, but seldom see anything large. Need a boat to get to about 30/40' I think. I am thinking of buying a boat, just need to rent a slip. I will let U guys know when I will next be out, and maybe we can coordinate. I spear in NJ and Freeport, moderate level.
