Ling Jaws
So I tried my hand at doing a set of lingcod jaws. Nothing to fancy and will definitely change a few things on the next round, but all in all its cool to have it up at the shop. To prep it I baked the head and then picked it clean. Let it dry and then went to work gluing things back together.

Re: Ling Jaws
Very cool.
How many pieces did you have to glue together? Thanks, Tom

Re: Ling Jaws
Great job Dan. Seeing those teeth reminds me all over again why I don't put my fingers in their mouth no matter how thick my gloves are!

Re: Ling Jaws
Nice!
The only jaws I ever did were those from Large Baracuda's, for the Grand Kids. I filet all the meat/skin off that I reasonably can, then Boil them in water with a high % of household bleach added. They come out PERFECTLY Clean and White, with No Ordor. Then I hot glue the Many pieces back together, (did I say Many!) Your jaws don't appear to have as many pieces as the Cuda's do. |

Re: Ling Jaws
Thanks guys!
I'm looking forward to trying some other species once the regs in Oregon open up again in January. Probably try keeping some beetles at the shop to facilitate and ease the process a bit.
